Strong 8K IPTV Alternative — What 8K Really Means

If you are comparing services with 8K in the name, the most useful thing we can tell you is technical rather than commercial: no UK or European broadcaster transmits linear television in 8K, so no IPTV provider can redistribute it. That is not a criticism of any particular brand — it is a limit of what exists to stream. This page explains what genuine HEVC 4K actually requires, how to read a real resolution off a live stream in your own player, and states our credentials so you can check them.

What Honest Resolution Looks Like

🎥

True HEVC 4K, Not Upscaled

Genuine 4K sources encoded in HEVC/H.265 — not a 1080p feed relabelled with a higher number. You can confirm the real resolution in your player's stream-info panel on the free trial.

📐

Honest Resolution Labelling

Channels are labelled with the resolution they actually carry. Most British broadcast channels are 1080i or 1080p at source, because that is what the broadcaster transmits — no amount of processing turns that into 4K, let alone 8K.

📶

Bandwidth You Can Actually Use

Genuine 4K needs roughly 25 Mbps sustained per stream. We tell you that up front so you can check your line speed, rather than selling a resolution your connection cannot carry.

🏛️

Verifiable Company Identity

Companies House 14785236, VAT GB412589632, ICO ZB491823, registered at 20 Wenlock Road, London N1 7GU — all publicly checkable before you pay.

💳

Payments With Chargeback Rights

Card, PayPal, Shop Pay and Google Pay. If the picture quality is not what was described, you have recourse. A crypto-only checkout removes that entirely.

Why We Will Not Advertise 8K

8K is approximately 7680×4320 — four times the pixel count of 4K and sixteen times Full HD. Delivering it as live television would require an 8K camera chain, an 8K broadcast contribution feed, and an 8K distribution encoder, at bitrates several times those of 4K. None of that exists for UK linear channels. We could put “8K” in a plan name tomorrow and nobody could stop us — which is precisely why the label means nothing on its own.

What is real is genuine HEVC 4K where a true 4K source exists, chiefly premium sport and selected VOD. It needs a real 4K source, H.265 encoding, roughly 25 Mbps sustained, and a device with hardware HEVC decoding. Plenty of channels labelled 4K across this industry are upscaled 1080p, which costs bandwidth and adds no detail. Check the real resolution in your player's stream-info panel — on us, on the free trial, before you pay.

Our own figures, stated so you can hold us to them: 35,000+ live channels, 120,000+ VOD titles, every Premier League fixture including blacked-out 3PM Saturday kickoffs, Champions League, TNT Sports, Sky Sports, UFC PPV and Formula 1, a 7-day UK EPG in British time, 99.9% measured uptime, and £10–£75 prepaid pricing with no auto-renewal and no resolution upsell.

Frequently Asked Questions

Not in any meaningful sense in 2026. 8K is roughly 7680×4320 — four times the pixels of 4K and sixteen times Full HD. No UK or European broadcaster transmits linear television channels in 8K, so there is no 8K source for any IPTV provider to redistribute. A handful of 8K demo clips and nature documentaries exist on a few streaming platforms, but there is no 8K channel line-up and no 8K film library. When a service name or plan includes "8K", treat it as branding rather than a technical specification, and check the actual stream resolution in your player.

Look for a provider that labels resolutions honestly rather than inflating them, offers genuine HEVC 4K where a 4K source genuinely exists, is a verifiably registered company, accepts card or PayPal so you keep chargeback rights, and lets you confirm all of it on a full-access free trial before paying. Sportix Media is registered at Companies House (No. 14785236) and with the ICO (ZB491823), carries 35,000+ channels and 120,000+ VOD titles including every Premier League fixture, and offers a 6-hour trial with no payment details required.

Every serious IPTV player exposes the actual stream properties. In TiviMate press the info button during playback; in IPTV Smarters Pro open the stream-information overlay; in VLC use Tools then Codec Information. Read the reported resolution and video bitrate. A genuine 4K stream reports 3840×2160 and typically 15–25 Mbps or more. If a channel labelled 4K reports 1920×1080, it is upscaled Full HD — the label is wrong. Run this check on a free trial rather than after paying.

Because resolution is the easiest number to inflate and the hardest thing for a buyer to verify before purchase. Channel counts, uptime percentages and resolution labels are all self-declared, and nothing in a checkout flow forces them to be accurate. The reason we publish the verification method rather than just a bigger number is that a method still works after our claims go out of date — and it works on us too.

No. We have not independently verified another provider's channel counts, resolutions, uptime or pricing, those figures change without notice, and publishing invented specifications about another business would be dishonest and legally reckless. What we will discuss is the underlying technology, because that is checkable and does not depend on trusting anyone: what 8K would require, why no broadcaster currently transmits it, and how you read a real resolution off a live stream yourself.

A single genuine 4K stream needs roughly 25 Mbps sustained, and that is throughput actually reaching the device rather than the headline figure on your broadband bill. On Wi-Fi at distance, or with several devices streaming simultaneously, real throughput is often well below the advertised rate. If you are on a connection below about 35 Mbps, Full HD will give you a visibly more stable picture than 4K that buffers. Our multi-connection plans assume each stream needs its own share of that bandwidth.

Single-connection plans are £10 for one month, £20 for three months, £35 for six months and £45 for twelve — £3.75 per month on the annual plan. Two-connection plans run £15 to £60 and three-connection plans £20 to £75. Every plan includes all 35,000+ channels and the complete 120,000+ VOD library at the highest resolution each source genuinely carries. No resolution tiers, no sports add-ons, no auto-renewal.
